About the Role
Seeking a Data Analyst/AI Internto develop an AI platform in collaboration with our GIS team. This position will focus on building AI powered workflows from geospatial imagery, transforming raw datasets into actionable insights. The intern will also support the creation of client ready deliverables, including interactive dashboards and PDF reports, ensuring complex data is translated into clear, visually engaging formats that drive decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
· Build and refine AI/ML models that process geospatial and tabular datasets (LiDAR, multispectral, hyperspectral, etc.).
· Integrate remote sensing outputs (NDVI, NDWI, fire/drought risk) into the platform.
· Manage and clean data (CSV, Geo TIFF, shapefiles).
· Retrieve and prepare open-source datasets (Sentinel, Landsat, NOAA, etc.).
· Document workflows and contributions to AI Platform Development
· Translate technical outputs into simple visuals and insights for clients (farmers, insurers, tribal leaders).
· Collaborate with the GIS team to design and implement AI-driven workflows.
· Create client-ready deliverables such as dashboards, visualizations, and PDF reports.
Ideal Candidate
· Proficient in Python, Jupyter, and geospatial/AI libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, Earth Engine)
· Experience building reports from remote sensing data
· Strong communicator with a passion for teaching/mentoring
· Bonus: Experience creating client-facing visual summaries (Tableau, Google Data Studio, Power BI)
· Strong written and visual communication skills for reporting and presentations.
· Curiosity and initiative — ability to ask questions, find datasets, and propose ideas.
· Reliability — able to deliver work on time and communicate progress.
Compensation
· Offer $19/hr. part-time (10–15 hrs./week).
· Total cost: ($800–$1,200/month).
